In the vibrant world of sports, I found my calling as a photographer. It started as a fascination with the athletes‘ skill and passion, and evolved into a journey to capture the very essence of these breathtaking moments.

A World of Wonder and Discovery

As a child, I would spend countless hours playing street football with my friends, imagining we were the stars of the game. Little did I know that one day, I would be granted a unique perspective on the world of sports, one that allowed me to see beyond the performances and into the heart of the action.

It all began when I picked up my first camera. I was intrigued by the idea of freezing moments in time, of capturing the intensity and beauty that existed within the world of sports. So, I started attending local events and games, honing my craft.

The Call that Changed Everything

One fateful day, my passion and persistence paid off. I received an offer from a renowned sports magazine that recognized my unique style and captivating images. They wanted me to join their team as a freelance photographer, and thus began my journey into the heart of the sporting world.

Dancing with the Lens

My first assignment was a traditional Chilean ring dance, a graceful and powerful performance by athletes. As I stepped into the arena, the vibrant energy and colorful costumes captivated my artistic eye. I moved with the dancers, my camera becoming an extension of myself. I captured the swish of fabric, the arch of a back, and the intense focus in their eyes.

Uncovering the Unique and Unexpected

But my interest in sports photography went beyond the typical action shots. I was drawn to the unique and often overlooked moments. I stalked the sidelines, searching for the perfect angle to showcase the beauty in the details: the intricate lacing of a football, the delicate arc of a basketball net, the vibrant splash of color on a runner’s sneakers. From the energetic atmosphere of a Thai boxing match to the graceful gymnastics routines, I traveled far and wide, always seeking new and interesting subjects. One memorable assignment took me to a marshland nature reserve, where I captured an eco-friendly take on the traditional sport of coursing, with tiny, colorful hydrozoans darting through the air.
